Natural convection in a wavy enclosures has received more
attention in recent years due to its important role for
enhancing the heat and mass transfer performance. This
attention is due to various engineering and science
applications of this phenomenon such as solar collectors,
nuclear reactor systems, earth’s crust , heat exchanger
design and electronic devices. Besides regular
configurations such as square or rectangular, there are a
limited amount of literatures related with a wavy enclosures
due to the complexity of flow inside the enclosure and
difficulty of obtaining enclosure boundaries. Oosthuizen
and Monaghan [1] simulated free convective flow in a
vertical non-rectangular cavity with a cooled flat upper
surface. They showed that the flow behaviour changed in a
cavity with the non-regular wall when Rayleigh number
was increased. Also, they observed that these changes were
related with the Rayleigh number and number of
undulations.
